October 2  CHILDREN ADVOCATING FOR CHILDREN
Stump City Brewing
521 West Fulton Street - Gloversville, NY  (518) 488-1178.
Bemme Always is about "Children advocating for other children".
Three very strong girls 10, 9 and 6 want our community to know that abuse is not tolerated in any form. Mental, emotional and physical abuse is ignored too often by courts, judges, CPS services as well as family and friends. These girls are standing up for children in these situations to let them know they are not alone and there are services in our great community there to help.
Please come support these brave beautiful babes in their first major fundraising event at Stump City Brewing in Gloversville on October 2nd, @ 2pm. Great family event where we have received wonderful volunteers to donate time and items. All proceeds go to our local Child Advocacy Center here in Johnstown, NY.
*DJ Brother Lou Roberts, food trucks, basket raffles, 50/50, games, and lets not forget the best drinks in town!!! All we ask is for you to bring a small donation of any of the following or your preference:
-Small stuffed animal
-Small blankets
-Fidget toys
-Travel size games
-Any monetary donations will be 100% to the Child Advocacy
Center
Stay for the scariest haunted walk starting around 6:45pm for $15.
Lets show these inspiring young ladies exactly what they can accomplish when they continue to stand up for others including themselves. See you then!!!!

Skidmore Encore
A survey of liberal studies presentations by Skidmore College faculty for adult learners
Tuesdays
October 12 – November 9, 2021

Skidmore Encore returns live online this fall!

The perennially popular lecture series Skidmore Encore returns! Begun in 1980, this lecture series for adult learners features members of the Skidmore College faculty delivering presentations on a broad array of liberal studies topics to engage audiences and stimulate curious minds. Join us for a remarkable array of lectures curated specially for the Encore audience.

The Program: The 2021 series features 10 Skidmore faculty members from a variety of disciplines delivering a lively array of presentations on topics and themes that change weekly. You will hear two 45-minute lectures each Tuesday morning from October 12 through November 9 and engage in a 10-minute interactive question-and-answer period following each lecture. Please see the detailed schedule of presenters and topics. Because your health and safety are our top priority, the program will be offered in a virtual format via Zoom this fall.

Eligibility: Registration for Skidmore Encore is open to those age 55 and over from around the world. Tell your friends!

Online registration: Online registration opens on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 9:00 am. The link will be posted at that time on the registration page. If you would like to be included on the mailing list for registration reminders at the end of each summer, please use our e-mail form.

Cost: Full payment of $95 is required to complete your online registration for the program. Scholarships are available to those whose annual income falls below $22,000. All scholarship requests must be made to Coleen Stephenson at cstephen@skidmore.edu or 580-5447 and are subject to verification and you may be asked for a copy of your most recent tax return for that purpose.

Technology: Because the series will be delivered online this year, you must have a computer, laptop, tablet or cell phone plus internet service to see and hear the presenters and their on-screen visuals; alternatively, you may call into the webinar via landline phone but you won’t be able to see any visuals shown by the presenters. We will offer two tech-check “practice” webinars for you to test if you have adequate technology to participate this year; please note that we are not able to assist anyone with technical issues at home. We highly recommend, therefore, that you attend one of the two tech-check practice sessions for Encore 2021 – these are scheduled for Tuesday, October 5 at 10:15 AM and Thursday, October 7 at 10:15 AM. The link to the practice sessions will be sent the morning of each session to those on our email list.

We look forward to seeing you on Zoom soon! Please feel free to contact Coleen Stephenson at cstephen@skidmore.edu or 580-5447 with any questions.

Please feel free to like our Facebook page for news about Skidmore College events and for program updates.
